(Learning curve…should have posted last week)
The sunrise over the farm is happening earlier and earlier these days, a sure sign of warmer weather to come. At least, that’s what we hope!
Big Daddy and Big E are fighting the frustration that a cold, wet, spring brings on when we haven’t gotten as far in to the prep and plant time should have already started. We know that the weather is out of our control, but nonetheless, it is a hard pill to swallow when our livelihood is on hold. We have to be ready to switch gears and change lines quickly if the weather forecast changes drastically from what was predicted….can’t happen too often as the weatherman is always right, right?? Cattle have been moved off the winter pastures and onto plush fields of rye. You surely thought they were afraid we were going to take it away from them.
I had to go into the VA (Veteran’s Administration) Hospital for a visit today. What an unscripted, but well choreographed, dance into the building with all the canes. I love my blingy Aqua colored cane-lets me pretend it’s a special Tiffany edition. The VA hospital is treating me right, but my heart aches for the older vets that aren’t able to be proactive in their journey. Please pray for those have have and are serving.
The trip back to the farm is like so many days in life-headed smoothly and quickly down the road in the fast lane, when all of a sudden you have to slow down to almost a crawl, assess the situation and change lanes. God is alway there through the unexpected changes in life-for me its health. I was a speed demon, but I travel in the slow lane now. It has let me actually smell the roses, be there for my family, it’s been interesting and challenging, but with God’s continual love, I keep trying to make each day the best I can.
Go out and make it a good day!
May His Grace be sufficient for all of us!
